These bold spice blends were created by chef Pierre Thiam to bring the bold, vibrant flavors of West Africa to your kitchen. Add them to whatever dish, protein, popcorn, or dip your heart desires.

The trio includes one of each:

  • Rof:   An herbaceous goes-with-everything spice. Parsley, chili and scallion. In Senegal, cooks stuff Rof, a spicy-herby-aromatic mixture, into fish to make thieboudienne, the national dish. Our version makes it easy to capture that vibrant essence in whatever you prepare.
  • Yassa:  A bright & bold blend with serious spice.  Scotch Bonnet, onion, and thyme. Yassa Chicken, originally from Senegal, has become one of the most popular dishes across West Africa. It starts with a marinade made from the ingredients in this blend, and it’s finished by smothering with caramelized onion, chili, and lime.
  • Afro-Funk: An umami flavor explosion with a kick! Dawadawa (fermented locust bean), garlic and mushroom. Fermented funk imparts deep, bold umami flavor that is beloved across West Africa.
