Yassa Yogurt Dip
With
Our Yassa spice blend makes a bold, spicy dip when added to a creamy base of your choice. Blooming spices in hot oil is an old technique where spices are gently simmered in warmed oil until the oil becomes packed with all of the flavors of the incorporated spices and seasonings. We do that here with our Yassa Spice Rub and use creamy yogurt to mix it with. Yogurt is a great base for a cool dip that pairs perfectly with the spicy kick of Yassa with lime, cilantro, and scotch bonnet peppers, but you could also use cream cheese or even hummus for your dip. Serve with your favorite Yolélé Fonio Chips or crispy, cool vegetables.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon Yolélé Yassa Spice rub
- 32 oz plain Greek yogurt

Preparation

Step 1
In a small pot or pan, heat oil over medium-low heat for about 2 minutes. Add Yolélé Yassa Spice Rub and stir to mix the oil and spices. Continue to stir so that the spices don't scorch or burn, and remove from heat after about 3 minutes, or until spices are fragrant and toasted. Let the bloomed oil cool for a few minutes and then add to the top of the yogurt or stir it in for a fully infused yogurt. Top with thyme to garnish and enjoy.
