Afro-Funk Popcorn

Your favorite popcorn. Afro-Funk infused butter. Toss. It’s that simple. Add a sprinkle more of the spice blend on your popcorn and let the funk fill your mouth with umami flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 2 tablespoons oil or melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons Yolélé Afro-Funk Spice Rub

Preparation

  • Step 1
    Heat oil or butter in a large, heavy-bottomed pot with a lid and add in Yolélé Afro-Funk Spice Rub to infuse with flavor.
  • Step 2
    Heat the pot over high heat. After about 1-2 minutes, toss in a few popcorn kernels to test if the oil is hot enough. When those kernels pop, add the remaining kernels and cover.
  • Step 3
    Remove from heat; let stand for 30 seconds. Return to heat and cook, shaking pot frequently, until popping stops, 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Toss with more Afro-Funk Spice Rub (or to taste), transfer to a bowl, and serve immediately.
